Seared Ahi Tuna

Tuna is a meaty fish with beautiful texture, but it is also very neutral when it comes to flavor. For the culinary artist, this ruby-red rich fish is a blank, umami-rich canvas upon which to create dishes bright with color, taste, and aroma! artSAVOR 10 has just the right combination of savory, sour, salty and smoky to make this seared Tuna preparation delightfully delicious and visually dazzling to the eye.

Black Pepper, Coriander, Leek, Onion, Sumac, Parsley, Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary, Lime, Sea Salt, Herbs & Spices

RECIPE INGREDIENTS

1pk     artSAVOR 10          
¾C     Olive oil, More if needed 
1 3lb Ahi Tuna Steaks, cut into 1½” square lengths
3T      Olive oil, More if needed 

KITCHEN ESSENTIALS

Large Cast Iron Grill Pan

PREP

Mix the entire package of artSAVOR 10 with oil in a mixing bowl, set aside
Place tuna on a baking tray
Pour some of the artSAVOR mixture over fish steaks
Pat artSAVOR mixture over tuna well with your hands on all four sides
Add more of artSAVOR mixture if needed for stronger flavor, optional
Cover tuna with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to cook, about 1 hour

Store unused artSAVOR mixture, preferably in an
airtight glass container in the refrigerator for future use.

COOK

Heat oil in a grill pan over medium high heat
Place tuna onto the grill pan, do not over crowd
Sear for about 40 seconds or until the artSAVOR crust is lightly charred, do not cook through Repeat the same for all four sides
You want 1/8” seared on all sides, leaving rare center²
Transfer steaks onto your cutting board
Cut and serve with your choice of sides, salad or as appetizer
